Wife, mother, maker – I have been many other things over the years. Band mom, Girl Scout Leader, employee, fundraiser, and I could go on. But you get it! Life gets busy when you have a family and my crafting and creative time has been very limited. Now that my daughter is grown, and out of college, we have more time to spend together as a family doing things we like to do, as opposed to things we need to do. That is how Oak Paper Scissors was born! I hope you are inspired by our creations as we seek to enjoy life and make the world better by using many recycled materials (discarded bottles, cigar boxes and whatever we may find that could be utilized in a creative way!) We even reuse the wood scraps from the woodworking shop whenever we can!
Bob
Husband, father, creative genius (in my humble opinion) and jack of all trades – he is an electrical engineer and computer wizard, musician and woodworker! He is also the king of fitting 10 pounds of stuff in a 5 pound box, you should see his shop! He loves playing music at church on Sundays as well as in his Christian rock band, True Gain. Woodworking is where he combines creativity and engineering to come up with some amazing creations! He has built a beautiful grandfather clock as well as useful kitchen items for me! Josie
Bob’s mom lives with us and has for some time (and won’t let me put her photo here). She is the moral supporter and daytime dog-sitter. We love spending time with her, as she regales us of times of old, family memories and history, and great Italian food! We would not be here with out you Mom!
Nikki
Daughter, pastry chef, musician and maker – what a ride the last 20-some years have been! She has grown into a wonderful, responsible, hard working, and creative soul. With a heart for the Lord, she is the worship music leader at our church, as well as joining her father’s rock band. She also works as a pastry chef at a custom cake shop doing wonderfully creative things there. I don’t know where she finds the time and energy to spend with her dad in the shop or me in the craft room along with running her grandmother (who lives with us) around town! She has her hand in a broad spectrum of items you will find on our site and we are so happy to have her working with us!
The Crew
I would be remiss if I did not include the rest of the family…we have two Papillons, Sebastian and Jasmine as well as an African Grey Parrot, Rosie whom we have had for over 20 years now. The puppies are getting old (they are about 14) and don’t have a full set of teeth between them, nor can they hear very well anymore – which is ironic considering how large their ears actually are! They bring us so much joy and love and inspire us daily!
